One deadline down, and one baby step closer to a painted army- the Rune Priest is complete. Technically he's Wyglaf Stormweaver, Master of Runes and advisor to the Wolf Lord Bran Solfang, but my wife and I call him "Dave Spritz" or "The Weatherman", on account of his typical allotment of psychic powers.
If you'd like to vote on him at CMON, the link is http://www.coolminiornot.com/299894
One more easily handled deadline this week, and then I get to go enjoy myself at a local 40k tournament. After that, it's on to some really cool projects, so stay tuned as I go to work on this year's competition pieces.

Lookin good dude, for a space marine that's neglected his armor! :) j/k. You putting anything in for the Crystal Brush at Adepticon?
ReplyDeleteAs much as I'd love to, that comp is out of the cards this year. I might try for it next year... That $10k prize is very tempting. To bad WGC isn't a qualifier convention. :(
ReplyDeleteNice work. If I had one complaint though... the patina effect is so bright and pure, it reads as though the metal areas are glowing in some cases and not weathered.
ReplyDeleteother than that, it's wonderful model.
Ron, FTW
How did you convert the staff? What pieces did you use?
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome.
It's from the terminator Njal model; I just cut the hands off, repinned the pieces back together, and filled the gaps with greenstuff.
ReplyDeleteHow was the psychic hood done?
ReplyDeleteI started with a marine shoulderpad, cut it down and built it out with greenstuff. The bear head just went on top of that, and I blended it into the existing cloak with greenstuff.
DeleteAwesome! Thanks!
